Meridian Police Activities League (Meridian PAL) Meridian, ID is the premier Youth Sports League for baseball, flag football, and soccer in the Treasure Valley because of our high standards and dedicated volunteers! We run a nationwide criminal background check on all of our Volunteers every sporting season, therefore all coaches (assistants too) are required to register for each season. In many cases this could mean a Volunteer will complete 2 background checks per year. Meridian PAL completes more than 2,000 background checks each year.

All coaches and assistant coaches must be at least 18 years of age and pass our background check.

Once you have a passed the background check, you will need to attend the mandatory coach meeting where you will be issued a badge, indicating to the Meridian PALorganization and the families of the players that you have passed your background check and you have been approved by the organization. Meridian PAL requires you wear your current coach badge to all practices, games, and other Meridian PAL events.

The following is a list of offenses that will disqualify you from being a Coach or other Volunteer for Meridian Police Activities League (MPAL). 

Including but not limited to:

·         Violations of the MPAL Code of Conduct

·        Any Guilty Plea to a Felony

·         Purposely entering invalid or fictitious  personal information.

·         Any Felony conviction

·         Any withheld judgment on a Felony, deferred judgment on a Felony or similar judgment on a Felony

·         Cannot be (currently) on: Probation, Parole, intermittent work release or the subject of a criminal investigation

·         Any Sexual Crime convictions

·         Any Hate crime convictions

·         Any crimes against children convictions

·         Any misdemeanor drug convictions in the past 5 years

·         Any violent misdemeanors

·         Any general (non-violent) misdemeanors in the past 3 years

·         MPAL reserves the right to disqualify any Coach or Volunteer from participating in our league
