Meridian Police Activities League (MPAL) exists because of the thousands of volunteers who dedicate their time to the youth of our community. MPAL volunteers serve in many capacities such as coaches, league directors, referees, team parents, field set up, committee members, and board members. Thank you for your service!

MPAL strives to offer quality sports programs and ensuring the safety of the youth is our highest priority. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and consideration for compliance of our Volunteer Background Check Policy.

MPAL has become a premier Sports Leagues in the Treasure Valley because of our high standards and dedicated volunteers! We run a nationwide criminal background check on all of our Volunteers every sporting season. In many cases this could mean a Volunteer will complete 2 background checks a year. MPAL completes more than 2,000 background checks each year. Because you will be in a leadership position with youth, MPAL requires a background check and you must be at least 18 years of age to be a Volunteer. We have opportunities for Volunteers for persons under age 18, however all teams must have an adult Volunteer who meets the minimum requirements of at least age 18 and a criminal background check.

Once you have a passed the background check, you will be issued a badge, indicating to the MPAL organization and the families of the players that you have passed your background check. MPAL requires you wear your current MPAL badge to all practices, games, and other MPAL events.

The following is a list of offenses that will disqualify you from being a Volunteer for MPAL.

Including but not limited to:

Any Felony conviction
Cannot be (currently) on: Probation, Parole, intermittent work release or the subject of a criminal investigation.
Any Sexual Crime convictions
Any Hate crime convictions
Any crimes against children convictions
Any misdemeanor drug convictions in the past 5 years
Any violent misdemeanors in the past 5 years
Any general (non-violent) misdemeanors in the past 3 years
